At the Institute for clinical psychology and psychotherapy all patient going for surgery are evaluated and examined to determine whether they fulfill the criteria for bariatric surgery. In the follow-up program, a strong emphasis is put on coping with the changes in lifestyle and behavior. Studies have shown, that patient offered a psychological follow-up, loose weight better and more sustainable. The concept of integrated psychological follow-up was implemented right from the beginning of the obesity centre.

Our psychologist, Miss mag. phil. C. Lager supports our patient in terms of preoperative check-up as well as post-operative follow-up. Her assessment is part of the cost application we send on behalf of the patient to the insurance company.
